The Walk of Shame
Project Intro: What we were taught to feel shame for is often associated with some of our most profound gifts. The Walk of Shame is an interactive workshop and pageant where participants can claim and reframe parts of themselves that have been difficult to embrace in the past. Class Description: Are you a mom who likes to fuck? Do you love to pee in the shower? Do you have unusual fantasies? Get ready to celebrate and own the parts of you that society has said are not okay, in the fantabulous WALK OF SHAME! This is a chance for us to claim what others have tried to shame us for, and to celebrate them as the wonderful GIFTS they are. Craft a pageant sash, wear it proudly, and walk the runway “Walk of Shame” with music, sparkle, and an adoring audience to support you. Come to participate or just to celebrate others. This interactive performance celebration may change your life!

As an experiential artist and relationship coach, Amy Weitzman teaches others to fall in love with themselves. Her interactive installations and workshops help dismantle generational wounds, reframe unhelpful personal narratives, and enable participants’ unique self-expression. Amy’s installations have been featured at festivals and events including Somerville Open Studios, Firefly Arts Collective, and The Night Market. Amy’s recent projects include The Official Registry of Permissions—a whimsical, reflective, and oddly bureaucratic journey that invites the visitor to grant themselves a permission; The Walk of Shame, an interactive pageant where participants claim and reframe labels that have been difficult to embrace in the past; and Dear Mom and Dad, a therapeutic letter writing experience done on vintage typewriters that encourages participants to express what they couldn't growing up. A collection of letters from Dear Mom and Dad will be published in 2023. As an expressive arts facilitator, Amy captivates with humor and empathy. She weaves neuroscience and positive psychology research into her experiences to support participants in repatterning old beliefs and reactions. The collective energy in Amy’s installations ranges from contemplative to uproarious. She often wears a tiara. Amy is a graduate of CTI’s Co-Active Coach® Training program and founder of The Pleasure Center—a life-coaching practice that focuses on sex & intimacy.
